Last year, Xiaomi officially launched its first foldable smartphone in the market under the MIX lineup, named Mi MIX Fold. Now, the company is working on its successor, which may be called Xiaomi MIX Fold 2.
According to the latest report, Xiaomi's upcoming foldable smartphone has appeared in the IMEI database and the device has also passed the certification process, revealing its model number as 22061218C.
It has also been revealed that Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 may be officially launched in the Chinese market in June or July next year. The phone, which is known to have a codename, will come with an upgrade specification.
The latest report claims that the company will use an 8.1-inch UTG AMOLED flexible screen from the Samsung display. The UTG display is processed thinly at a level of 30 microns and is made through a process that improves flexibility and durability.
Further, it has been said that the smartphone will have redesigned and upgraded hinges. For other upcoming device improvements, we'll have to wait a few more months before we start getting leaks.
For those who don't know, Xiaomi used polymide film (PI) for flexible screens used in mixed-fold smartphones, the same technology provided by Huaxing Optoelectronics for Huawei's Mate X2.
